 Hythe took on opposition from a higher level for the first time during pre-season and they yet again impressed as they won 1-0 at SCEFL Premier Division Kennington on Saturday afternoon.

 It was a game that Hythe dominated from start to finish and were unlucky not to have the lead at the half time break.

 Eventually they got their just desserts on 53 minutes when Jarred Trespaderne flicked the ball into the path of Billy Lewins and he planted his effort past former Hythe keeper Joe Mant into the corner of the net.

 There was no real threat on the Hythe goal throughout the fixture and Mant was the far busier of the keepers.

 Whilst what happens in pre-season is sometimes deceptive, the Cannons have impressed scoring twenty goals and only conceding two and those came in the game at Aylesford.

 The Hythe supporters who travelled to the game left with optimism for the new season. The Cannons will complete pre-season with a harder test on Saturday when they visit Isthmian South-East Deal Town.
